Herambiente hosts RDF Industry Group June Meeting in Bologna

Herambiente has hosted the June meeting of the RDF Industry Group - a pan-European trade association with member companies across the Waste Derived Fuels supply chain - in Bologna, bringing together members and partners to discuss key developments and future challenges in the WDF industry.

Participation in the RDF Industry Group reflects Herambiente’s active role in contributing to a shared European platform aimed at fostering dialogue, aligning industry practices and anticipating the evolving dynamics of the sector. The meeting provided a valuable opportunity to exchange perspectives, strengthen collaboration and support the development of a more integrated and resilient market at European level.

The programme included a site visit to the upcoming Aliplast rigid plastics treatment plant in Modena, where participants experienced first-hand advanced solutions for HDPE plastic recovery and recycling. The guided tour offered insights into innovative processes and technologies designed to enhance material circularity.

The event continued with an afternoon session at Herambiente’s FEA – Frullo Energia Ambiente facility, dedicated to strategic updates and discussions on current market trends and challenges.

Among the key highlights were a comprehensive presentation of Herambiente, an overview of future trends in the Italian market and the main challenges affecting European logistics, and an in-depth look at the CapturEste project in Ferrara - Italy’s first industrial-scale CO₂ capture (CCS) project and one of the first in Europe designed for application in waste-to-energy plants.
