Since 2019, this partnership has served as a model of best practice in the circular economy, optimising production processes and generating a positive environmental impact.
ECOL360°: an integrated service for an efficient industrial waste management
Thanks to Recycla's integrated industrial waste management service ECOL360°, Calligaris manages the entire cycle of production waste through a single point of contact, from collection and documentation right through to its final recovery. A key element of this collaboration is the management of environmental and regulatory documentation via the Ecolweb portal, which enables continuous monitoring of waste delivered and facilitates the scheduling of collections, thereby simplifying operations. The aim is not merely to dispose of waste, but to recover its value through material or energy recovery. A concrete example is the waste arising from painting and sanding processes, personal protective equipment (PPE), booth filters, contaminated rags and soiled packaging, which are treated and converted into alternative fuel for companies in the hard-to-abate sectors. In this way, dependence on fossil fuels is reduced, actively contributing to the decarbonisation of energy-intensive industries.
Separate waste collection and staff training to reduce waste
Thanks to its partnership with Recycla, Calligaris has implemented an advanced separate waste collection system at its production sites. Dedicated bins and detailed labels enable optimal separation at source, facilitating the recovery of waste materials and minimising the risk of misclassification. Furthermore, a staff training programme has improved waste management, optimising processing flows and minimising waste.
